A 40-year old man was airlifted to hospital after falling from height at a recycling centre in Kettering.

The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called out to the incident on Friday at 11.20am and landed just before 11.35am.

They were called out due to the clinical nature of the incident.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: “The man had suffered chest injuries in the fall and required a swift transfer to the nearest trauma centre.

“He was given much needed pain relief and immobilised before being flown to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.”

The WNAA attends three rescue missions every day, costing approximately £1,700 per mission.
