Man seen running along the A45 in Northamptonshire killed after colliding with a lorry

Police were called to reports of a man running along the eastbound carriageway near to the Great Billing Way junction at about 5.22pm.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Officers were deployed to attend, however, before their arrival the man crossed the carriageway at which point he was in collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

“Police officers, fire and ambulance attended the incident however the man sadly died at the scene.”

The road was closed while the emergency services responded to the incident and re-opened at about 8.20pm.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it. Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call police on 101.
