A man has been jailed for two separate robberies at a betting shop in Rothwell.

Adam Jenkins, 27, of Grove Place, Raunds, was sentenced last week at Northampton Crown Court to six and a half years for robbery and possession of a bladed article.

He was convicted of two armed robberies at the Betfred shop in Bridge Street, one on October 4, 2012 and the second on February 5 this year.

Detective Inspector Ali Reynolds said: “We are pleased with the outcome of this case and hope this significant sentence will serve as a deterrent for anyone thinking of committing such offences.”
