Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck by a car and carried for about 50ft in a hit-and-run in Rushden.

A man in his 40s was hit by a vehicle in Northampton Road, Rushden, at about 10.30pm on Monday (December 4) and carried about 50ft on the bonnet.

He was taken to hospital with chest and facial injuries.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has any information about the vehicle involved, to contact police.
