Man assaulted outside Rushden shop

RUSHDEN police have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted outside the Premier Store in Queen Street.

Between 2.30pm and 3pm on Monday, April 23, a brief fight followed an argument between two men.

One of the men then walked away but the offender followed him, pulled him to the floor and punched him repeatedly.

The victim also had his face stamped upon and he sustained a broken nose, a fractured cheekbone and numerous cuts and bruises.

The offender is described as white, of skinny build with dark hair, a goatee beard and a moustache.

He was wearing a denim-style jacket, blue jeans and Nike Air trainers. He had a Rottweiler dog with him on a lead.
