Man arrested following serious assault in Kettering - 1230PM UPDATE

A 21-year-old man from Burton Latimer has been arrested following a serious assault in incident in Kettering town centre on Sunday morning.

The attack occurred near the bus bays in Newland Street, Kettering, at around 8.15am.

The victim - a 20-year-old man from Kettering - was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious head injuries. The victim’s condition has since improved and it is anticipated that he will be transferred to a local hospital within the next few days.

The man arrested was taken to Corby police station and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives investigating this incident are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
