A 47-year-old man was airlifted to hospital today (Thursday) after he came off his motorbike in a collision with an HGV.

The accident happened on the A509 heading out of the county near to Olney at about 8.50am.

The Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) was called to the scene where the male motorcyclist had sustained injuries to both of his arms and had suspected chest injuries.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: “WNAA paramedics administered pain relief and medication to help minimise internal bleeding.

“They then immobilised him and flew him to the major trauma centre at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire for emergency treatment.”
