A KITE mark used by food and drink producers, shops and eateries to show they are made in the county is proving to be a high flier.
Almost 30 businesses and organisations have already signed up for the ‘Made In Northamptonshire’ logo since it was launched in January.
Potbelly Brewery in Kettering, one of a number of county beer-makers behind the scheme, wil include the logo on its next batch of bottle labels.
Glenn Morris, of the brewery, said: “Personally I’m always on the look out for buying local produce so I think this will help point the way for drinkers who are trying to do the same.”
The logo is the brainchild of Rachel Mallows of The Mallows Company in Bozeat, who last year set up the ‘Made In Northamptonshire’ networking group to bring like-minded businesses together and help promote local quality.
Ms Mallow said: “I’m delighted that the logo is proving to be so successful and it’s great for those who work so hard locally to be able to trumpet their excellence in this way.
“Our next step is creating a county directory of food and drink producers to make it easier for retailers and eateries to source fine fare on their doorstep.”
