Lorry and bike involved in A14 crash near Rothwell

Emergency services have attended the scene of a collision on the A14 east of Rothwell.

The crash, which involved a motorbike and a lorry, happened at about 1.45pm between junctions five and six eastbound.

The bike, which was clipped by an HGV, was being ridden by a man in his 50s, who has been taken to Kettering General Hospital.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police confirmed those involved only sustained minor injuries, and although the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance did attend, it was not needed to transfer any patients to hospital.

The road was fully re-opened at about 2.40pm.
