Long service award for Wellingborough councillor
Cllr Ken Harrington was elected to Wellingborough Council on May 4, 1995, and his work over the past two decades will be recognised with a long service award set to be presented next week.
The Conservative councillor was elected as a borough councillor in 1995 to represent people living on the Redwell ward.

Hide AdThe ward then became known as the Redwell East ward in 1999, and Cllr Harrington was elected to the Hatton ward in May 2015 following a boundary review.
The award will be presented at a meeting of the full council starting at 7pm on Tuesday, January 19, at Swanspool House in Wellingborough.
Next week’s agenda carries a report on Cllr Harrington’s long service, which states: “Over the last 20 years he has worked tirelessly on behalf of his ward constituents.
“He has served on a number of committees of the council and has been either a chairman or vice-chairman and is currently vice-chairman of the services committee.
“In 2012 he was elected as the mayor of the borough of Wellingborough.”
Cllr Harrington has chosen to receive vouchers for Currys/PC World as his gift.
