Lions Club holds first fun day

A CHARITABLE organisation has held a family fun day.

The Kettering Lions Club invited members of the public to the rugby club in Waverley Road to enjoy fairground rides, meet pet animals and raise money for charity.

Malcolm Harris, membership chairman for the club, said: “It was our first major event like this and I think it went quite well.

“The weather wasn’t very kind to us so the crowd wasn’t as big as we had planned for.

“We still really enjoyed it and managed to raise £500.”

The club aims to raise at least £10,000 every year for local clubs and charities.

Animal charities NANNA and Animals in Need brought animals for visitors to pet.

There was also a barbecue and stalls.
