The Royal British Legion team in Northamptonshire has a new area manager.
Mark Collins, a former Royal Air Force logistics officer, will manage the charity’s welfare support services. Last year in Northamptonshire the team helped nearly 150 people.
Mr Collins said: “As the nation’s leading Armed Forces charity, the Royal British Legion has been helping service people past and present for more than 90 years. We provide £1.6m every week in direct welfare support – that’s more than £83m each year – and respond to more than 170,000 calls annually for help, advice and support.
“The local team is dedicated to providing a wide range of flexible support services, from helping a young widow through an inquest to ensuring that an older veteran can stay independent in their own home.”
The Legion has a contact centre on 0808 802 8080, and calls are free from landlines.
