Corby Council is inviting parties interested in tendering for the lease of the popular Boating Lake cafe to attend an open viewing tomorrow (Thursday).
The Boating Lake was constructed in the early 1970s to offer a community facility by the man-made lake.
The facility is a short walk from Corby town centre, with the Pat Fawcett Way footpath/trail connecting it with Corby East Midlands International Pool.
The lake itself often boasts a wide variety of ducks, geese, water fowl and garden birds and an environmental project has previously seen fishing stocks improved.
An ‘open viewing’ is being held tomorrow (Thursday, December 17) from 3pm to 5pm and all interested parties are welcome to come and have a look at the space, with viewing afterwards by appointment only.
Leader of Corby Council Tom Beattie said: “The Corby Boating Lake is an iconic place within the borough and is enjoyed, along with the cafe, by many residents and visitors of all ages.
“It is a beautiful green area right in the centre of town that is not only enjoyed for its wildlife and scenery but also hosts a range of activities such as fishing competitions and our free annual bonfire and firework display.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to operate the cafe businesses and we look forward to receiving the tender bids by the January deadline.”
The deadline for tender bids is 4pm on Friday, January 15 2016.
Parties who are interested in being provided with a tender pack can contact CB Property on 01536 464684 or via email.
