A wartime housewife will share her experiences and tips for modern-day living at a talk hosted by the Rothwell Fair Society tomorrow (Thursday).
Author and broadcaster Biff Raven-Hill will be providing a lively and amusing talk on how she became the wartime housewife, being brought up by a Victorian grandmother and genuine wartime housewife.
She will touch on the importance of life skills, passing those skills on to the next generation, ecological and domestic importance of not wasting resources, budgeting and cooking from scratch – and having the power to change the world, one darned sock at a time.
She brings a display table of wartime artefacts and ephemera, and there is also a fun quiz with prizes identifying period objects.
The evening starts at 8pm tomorrow and will held in the lounge of the Rothwell Conservative Club in Market Hill, Rothwell.
It is a free event and non-members are welcome.
