Kitchen fire in Corby flat

Fire crews were called to a flat in Corby where cooking left unattended started a blaze.

The incident happened at 4.35am on Friday (September 20) in the property in Mantlefield Road on the Beanfield estate.

A cat was rescued from the flat which was damaged by smoke.

Later, at 6.15am, a crew was called to the parcel delivery firm DHL in Darwin Road, Corby, where a faulty light fitting caused a fire.
