Kettering General Hospital falls below the national average when it comes to A&E waiting times, according to the latest national statistics.

Statistics collated on NHS data collection system Unify2 show 92.1 per cent of A&E cases were admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours of arrival.

That figure, from cases in October, fell just under three per cent short of the national average.

KGH saw 6,733 A&E attendees, with 529 taking longer than four hours to be dealt with.

There were 2,684 emergency admissions, with 1,931 coming through A&E and 753 through other avenues.

Of these emergency admissions, 394 took longer than four hours from decision admit to decision.

KGH was contacted for a comment but declined to comment.
