A teenager who is training to become a professional musical theatre performer says she is excited at the prospect of performing at the O2 in London.
Ellie Smith, 17, from Kettering, is a member of Stamford-based Wildcats Academy, which is preparing for one of the biggest shows since they opened in September 2008.
The West End Wildcats, a registered charity based at the Academy, are performing medleys from hit musicals including Chicago, We Will Rock You and Cats at the Indig02 on Sunday, February 24.
The venue is part of the O2 and has hosted many famous faces and the Wildcats are incredibly excited to be performing there themselves.
The troupe is made up of over 50 children aged between five and 16 as well as the post-16 academy of students undertaking full-time professional training.
Ellie, a member of the post-16 academy, said: “It’s going to be an amazing experience and I never imagined I could be performing on such a big stage.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience and I am so thankful to Wildcats for putting us there.”
Caz Dolby, creative director of Wildcats, said: “It is exciting to be part of such an amazing performance. The children and young people involved have worked incredibly hard and we cannot wait to see the finished performance on February 24.”
