Food lovers in Kettering will be able to buy a feast of locally produced food and drink from a new monthly market that starts next month.
The new ‘Foodie Friday’ market in High Street will be held on the second Friday of every month, starting from Friday, October 9.
The new food market will be tempting visitors with high quality, fresh produce that will change with the seasons, offering a range of delectable foods to either take home or eat on the spot.
Local produce for sale will include plants and flowers, fruit and vegetables, a variety of cheeses, homemade chutneys to marmalades, and much more.
Kettering Council’s economic regeneration manager Alex Jelley said: “We know customers value high quality, fresh produce and we’re delighted to be bringing this to Kettering with a new specialist ‘foodie’ market.
“We want to encourage people not only from the town but also the surrounding areas to enjoy what’s on offer in the town and sample a range of food.”
Council deputy leader Cllr Lloyd Bunday said: ““It is wonderful to be able to welcome Foodie Fridays to Kettering.
“This town has always had a strong market tradition, and by working together with new traders, we want to make sure that tradition not only survives, but thrives, here in Kettering.
“Come along and taste some of your foodie favourites, or explore your taste buds and try something new.”
Sellers can book onto the market by visiting www.kettering.gov.uk/markets or contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or 01536 410333.
