A Kettering student on the hunt for love has been appearing on screens across the nation in the past few weeks on lively prime time dating show Take Me Out.
Colette Langhorn, 20, signed up for the popular ITV programme last year and took part in three weeks of filming last November.
The show is hosted by Bolton comedian Paddy McGuinness who is known for his catchphrase “No likey, no lighty”.
The aim of the show is for male contestants to try and win a date with one of 30 women who appear on the show.
However, if the women are unimpressed with the contestant, they switch off their podium light.
Colette said: “I signed up last year as a bit of fun – I wasn’t really expecting to find the love of my life from it. I had to go to an audition in Birmingham and I found out I was in about a week before filming.”
The show was filmed last November and Colette said the one-hour show which appears on our screens takes about three hours to record in reality.
She added: “The day would start at about 9am with hair and make-up and there was a one-hour rehearsal before the filming started. It took a long time but it was good fun. I got on really well with the other girls and a group of us have kept in touch after the filming.”
Colette said she is not allowed to reveal whether she went on a date during the show. She is originally from Kettering but currently lives in Essex where she is studying English language at the University of Essex.
Take Me Out is broadcast on Saturdays on ITV from 8.30pm.
