Kettering Youth Council is looking for groups in the borough to bid into the small grant fund, to help enable more activities for young people aged 13 to 19.

A Small Grant is available for up to £800 and will pay for equipment, hall hire, tutors and resources. Anyone is able to bid for the funding if they are looking to provide activities for the above age range.

Luke Hutchinson of Kettering Phoenix Basketball club was one of the recipients to receive a small grant in 2014.

Luke said: “The club received £500 to help pay for new kit for our basketball teams.

“The old kit was starting to look old and worn and we really wanted to make sure we looked our best when competing.

“The new kit also enabled us to attract new members to the club and expand our member base to allow the club to grow and thrive.”

Cllr Jan Smith, Kettering Council’s portfolio holder for community and culture, said: “It’s vitally important that groups that work with young people aged 13 to 19 are able to access this kind of funding, it will provide a vital start up grant to for them and help those looking to expand into this age range.”
