Kettering Council has officially appointed its new managing director.
Graham Soulsby will step up from deputy chief executive to replace current chief executive David Cook, who will be leaving the authority.
The role of chief executive is being scrapped by the council in a leadership shake-up.
The move was confirmed at a council meeting last night (Wednesday) with just two abstentions.
Mr Soulsby will be supported by two executive directors and will receive a salary of between £125,000 and £139,000.
He said: “I’m truly honoured to have been offered this exciting role and I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues, elected councillors and partners across the borough in the coming months.”
Councillors said they had ‘huge respect’ for Mr Soulsby and that they were sure he would do a fine job.
