Trains through the county are running normally again after a person was hit by a train earlier in the day

Passengers travelling from Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough train stations had been asked to find alternative routes.

Lines between Bedford and Luton were closed by East Midlands Trains after a person was hit by a train at Leagrave this morning.

It led to disruption for services between London St Pancras and Leicester, including Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough stations.

Network Rail staff were on site following the incident, with passengers being advised to find alternative routes where possible.

Other train operators were accepting East Midlands Trains tickets and the alternative routes remained in place until about 4pm.

A half hourly bus service in both directions between Kettering, Wellingborough and Northampton was offered for customers travelling between Kettering and Wellingborough only to connect to alternative services to/from London Euston.
