This year’s Kettering by the Sea festivities begin this week.
Almost four weeks’ worth of activities will take place in the town’s Market Place from Thursday, July 24, until Saturday, August 16.
As well as the sand in the Market Place, activities will include a visit from West Lodge Farm animals, dance performances, arts and crafts and a Punch and Judy show. A full itinerary is available on the council’s website.
Activities run every day except Sundays from 10am to 4pm. This year, Kettering Council has also introduced free parking at its car parks on the Fridays during Kettering by the Sea – August 1, 8 and 15.
The authority’s Guy Holloway said: “Kettering by the Sea is a great, free family event and we hope that the sun will shine so that everyone can have a great time at Kettering by the Sea this year. The wide range of free activities taking place ensures that there’s something for everyone, so we look forward to seeing you on the Market Place this summer.”
Cllr Jan Smith, portfolio holder for community and culture, added: “It’s fantastic that we are able to offer such a full programme of free activities for all ages in the summer.
“I hope that people will also make the most of the award-winning museum and art gallery and enjoy Kettering by the Sea in the sun this year.”
