Keris and Harlee are bound for Manchester

A brother and sister from Desborough are heading for the World KickBoxing Council's World Championships in Manchester next month.

Keris and Harlee Hooker have won over 60 medals and trophies between them and have both qualified for the prestigious competition, which will be staged on October 26, 27 and 28.

Nine-year-old Keris has been in the sport for 18 months and currently holds a blue belt and also has a green belt in kung-fu while Harlee, who is eight, has been doing kickboxing for two-and-a-half years and holds a purple belt.

They train in Desborough, Corby and Kettering with the British Chinese Kickboxing Association (BCKA), which is led by renowned coach Alex Barrowman.

The siblings have been raising money to help fund their road to the World Championships with one of their biggest fundraising efforts being when they held at a quiz night at Desborough Cons Club back in April.

They are still seeking sponsors for their fight suits and tracksuits as they countdown to the big weekend in Manchester.
