July opening date for long-awaited Corby bar

The Corby branch of a national restaurant and bar chain is set to open in July.

The Paletto Lounge, which will be run by the Loungers chain, is due to open in the vacant former Rubix nightclub unit in Corporation Street.

Loungers already runs a bar in Kettering called Kino Lounge and one in Stamford called the Cosy Club. It also recently opened Castello Lounge in Wellingborough.

The firm’s website says Paletto Lounge will open on July 13.

Online adverts have been posted looking for staff.

The firm is currently looking for a sous chef and a general manager to run the venue.

The company is known for the relaxed atmosphere it promotes in its bars, as well as the innovative food.

Popular items on its menu include chorizo hash, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Harissa-spiced Chicken.

Rubix closed in October 2015 after the building’s landlord said the terms of the lease had been breached.
