It’s time for more monkey business in aid of a good cause.
Lakelands Hospice is holding its annual Brass Monkey 10k and fun run on Sunday at Rockingham Speedway and is appealing for people to put on their running shoes and make a difference for a great local cause.
The 10k run will consist of four laps of the Oval and the fun run will be just one lap.
There will be drink stations, and the race is fully marshalled with the finish line underneath the famous grandstand.
Lakelands Hospice fundraising manager Paul Marlow said: “Entries have started to flood in and we are expecting a really good turnout, all the local athletic clubs are also supporting the race.
“The beauty of this event is you don’t have to raise sponsorship – your entry fee alone will be supporting the hospice.
“So what are you waiting for – get yourself entered today and make a real difference for patients living with a life-limiting illness.”
There will be age group trophies for the top three in each category, spot prizes and a goody bag and medal for all runners.
Entry forms are available via the Lakelands website at www.lakelandshospice.org.uk, or by calling 01536 747755.
It costs £12 to enter the 10k run and £5 to enter the fun run. Entries are accepted on the day and cost £15, the entry cost for the fun run is the same. Registration starts at 9.30am and the run starts at 11am.
All proceeds raised from the run will go directly to providing specialist palliative care to patients living with cancer and heart failure at Lakelands Hospice in Butland Road, Corby.
