Patients and staff at Lakelands hospice, Corby, put on their fancy hats and finery when they held an Ascot day on Thursday (June 20).
Corby Silver Band entertained everyone in the gardens after lunch and there was dancing and music before guests settled down to enjoy racing on the big screen.
The hospice’s community fundraiser Paul Marlow said: “It was a wonderful day which all the patients enjoyed. It was great to see the smiles on their faces.
“We want to say a big thank-you to nurse manager Cathy Langtree and her team who organised the day for the patients and to all the staff who gave up their time to help out.”
Lakelands provides support to patients with life-limiting illnesses and heart problems in the Corby area.
The hospice receives no external funding and relies on donations to continue its work.
