Stanwick Village Hall Trust is holding an informal open meeting from 8pm on Tuesday, January 19, in the committee room so people can meet members of the trust and discuss the hall and its various uses.

Anyone living in Stanwick or connected with the hall or the village in any way is invited.

The trust is a small team of volunteers, many of whom were involved in getting the initial funding for the hall before it was built, and it is now looking for volunteers and support from the community for help in several areas.

It is looking for people to help organise working parties or days to do small jobs in the hall and develop areas like the lobby in the hall.

They also want to hear from people who would like to join a volunteer fundraising group to raise funds to keep the building sustainable for years to come so they can maintain the standard of the building and provide new resources for users.

The floor was a large bill for them as a charity so they are also seeking funding to buy new tables for the hall and to pay for the hall to be repainted.

There are other areas which could also be developed with funding and would benefit all users.

A user group committee was recommended by the National Lottery funders made up of representatives from those who use the hall.

This group might chose to work on joint projects with other community groups so all benefit and undertake joint fundraising events to the benefit of all involved.

They are also looking for new volunteer trust members to join the management trust team to help see the hall grow and develop in the future.

The hall is a community building and all community members are encouraged to get involved, support and have a say in the hall now and in the future.

Anyone is welcome at the meeting to find out more about getting involved with help, specific projects or regular support.

Refreshments will be available.
