Hundreds turn out for Higham Sparkle
Hundreds of people turned out to mark the official start of the festive season in Higham Ferrers.
The town’s popular Christmas Sparkle took place on Saturday, and included a continental market, Santa’s grotto and a funfair as well as a hog roast, chestnuts and mulled wine.
There was also live entertainment on stage and a Christmas tree display in St Mary’s Church, which all led up to the big lights switch-on at the end of the day.
The annual event was organised by Higham Ferrers Town Council in partnership with Higham Ferrers Tourism and St Mary’s Church.
