Visitors were invited to take along their own carved Halloween pumpkins for a ‘scariest pumpkin’ competition, which were then displayed in the drill tower.

In total, 140 pumpkins were entered into the competition.

Other entertainment on the day included facepainting, refreshments and the chance to sit in a fire engine.

All money raised during the event went to The Fire Fighters Charity, to help serving or retired, injured firefighters and their families in Burton Latimer and surrounding areas.

Crew Manager Nick Gayton said: “It was a very successful event and a great opportunity to engage with the community.

“As well as the entertainments on offer, it also gave us the chance to give away fire safety advice and firework safety advice to people who may not normally hear it.”

Laura Harden, regional fundraising manager with The Fire Fighters Charity, said: “Many thanks go to the community of Burton Latimer for coming out to support us.
