How are we going to keep well and healthy in Northamptonshire?

A draft strategy on wellbeing issues affecting everyone from the very young to the elderly in Northamptonshire is being drawn up and there is still time to have a say on it.

The plan for Northamptonshire’s Health and Wellbeing Board is called ‘Supporting Northamptonshire to Flourish’ and the strategy will be used to help prioritise the development and delivery of health and wellbeing services in Northamptonshire over the next four years from 2016 to 2020.

The draft strategy sets out four main priorities:

• Every child gets the best start

• Taking responsibility and making informed choices

• Promoting independence and quality of life for older adults

• Creating an environment for all people to flourish

Chair of the health and wellbeing board Councillor Robin Brown said: “This strategy is for the people of Northamptonshire and we really want to hear your comments on it.

“We have identified some key issues that can most effectively be tackled by working together which will reduce health inequality and make a long-term difference to people’s lives.

“Your feedback will help make sure we develop a final strategy that meets the needs of everyone in the county.”

The consultation is open until February 15. People can take part by visiting www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/consultations
