Housing developer Taylor Wimpey has submitted plans to build more than 150 homes on the outskirts of Kettering.
The scheme is part of the East Kettering expansion and lies off Warkton Lane, between Kettering and Barton Seagrave.
Taylor Wimpey, in planning documents supplied with the application, said: “The site forms a natural extension to Barton Seagrave and is the first phase of the larger extension to provide an additional 5,000 homes at East Kettering.”
A section 106 contribution, which will help pay for additional infrastrucure the community will need as part of the scheme, is also being prepared for submission.
The scheme also asks for permission to demolish a vacant home on the site as well as a substation, which will be rebuilt.
The planning documents add: “The housing mix will comprise 2,3,4 and 5 bedroom dwellings to address existing housing needs. The provision of 10 per cent affordable housing will assist in providing homes for all and ensure younger people and families are able to establish themselves on the property ladder.”
Kettering Council has not said when a decision will be made. The application can be viewed at www.kettering.gov.uk.
