Flames broke out in the loft of a Wellingborough house after some clothes caught fire.

Crews were called to Edinburgh Road at about 11.30pm last night (Monday) to reports that clothing and some timber boards alight.

When they arrived, they used a thermal imaging camera to scan the building.

However, the homeowner had managed to get a garden hose upstairs and successfully doused the flames.

The room sustained light smoke damage.
