High-value haul for New Year thief

Valuable jewellery including a Cartier watch was stolen during a New Year break-in.

Police are appealing for information following the high-value burglary at a house in the village of Tansor near Oundle.

At some time overnight between New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, an offender smashed a window to gain access to a property in Fotheringhay Road, Tansor.

A police spokesman said: “Several items were stolen from the property, among them a valuable Cartier stainless steel silver watch, other items of jewellery and cash.”
