Diabetes UK and the Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is holding a joint event for people with diabetes and carers to help improve NHS services.
The event takes place at Kettering Conference Centre from 7pm on Tuesday, April 29. There will be an introduction followed by a question and answer session for attendees.
Katy Cook, Diabetes UK’s NHS Influencing Officer in the Midlands, said: “We hope as many people as possible will come to this meeting. We know how important it is to ensure that people with diabetes get the best possible care and part of that is making sure people know what treatment and checks they are entitled to. At the moment too many people in Northamptonshire have problems resulting from their footcare.
“Good footcare is essential to avoid devastating consequences, such as amputation.”
Lynsey Burgess, diabetes clinical lead for Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, said: “As a community service, we work closely with our patients and partners in general practices and hospital care, and know how important feedback is in building a responsive, patient-led service. Therefore, we encourage all our patients, past and present, to join us at this event and tell us what they think we are doing well and how we can improve.”
