The Community Book Pledge is a nationwide initiative which aims to increase hospital reading resources.

It works by firms pledging money to the scheme, which is then boosted by Usborne Books at Home and School, a division of children’s publisher Usborne Publishing.

Appeal co-ordinator Eloise Willmott said: “We want companies to make a small cash donation to buy a book or books for the Skylark Children’s Ward.

“We are aiming to collect £1,000 in cash donations for the ward, and Usborne will then provide an additional £600 worth of free books on top of this.

“All businesses supporting us will receive acknowledgement in the hospital magazine and can also request a donor’s poster to proudly display at their work place.”

Any companies which wish to take part in the initiative can call Eloise on 07855 758556 or email her for more information.
