An emergency helicopter was called to a village after an elderly man fell from a roof.

The Magpas Helimedix helicopter was called to the King’s Cliffe area at about 1.35pm on Sunday, October 25, after a man in his 70s fell from a roof and injured his back.

Magpas Helimedix team members Dr Alex Cross and paramedic Keir Rutherford assessed the patient and administered pain relief, working alongside an East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedic crew. The man was then taken to Peterborough City Hospital, in a stable condition, by land ambulance.

The helicopter was crewed by pilot Richard Eastwood and crew member Steve Hunwicks.

A spokesman for the Magpas Helimedix charity said: “All the emergency services worked extremely well together.”
