The boss of the Air Ambulance operating in Northamptonshire has paid tribute to Only Fools and Horses actor Roger Lloyd-Pack, who has died aged 69.
Andy Williamson, CEO of The Air Ambulance Service, which runs the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, said Lloyd-Pack, who starred as Trigger in Only Fools, had been a great supporter of the charities.
Lloyd-Pack’s death was announced today (Thursday, January 16) by his agent.
“It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Roger Lloyd-Pack,” said Mr Williamson, who is also head of The Children’s Air Ambulance. “Roger was known to millions as a legend of British sitcoms, especially in Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar of Dibley.
“What may not have been as well-known was that he was a huge supporter of both The Children’s Air Ambulance and the local air ambulances. Roger attended many events on our behalf and was always willing to help promote the cause and the need for funds.
“He was responsible for raising tens of thousands of pounds for our work and he was the perfect ambassador talking about the vital work we do.
“He will be sorely missed as a supporter and as a friend and he will always be remembered fondly by our charity. Our thoughts go out to his wife and family.”
