People are being asked for their views on plans to make a park better for all who use it.
The Castle Fields Community Group (CFCG) was set up as a community group to raise funds to improve Castle Fields Park in Wellingborough and encourage people to use it more often.
Many of us really love this park, it will be great to see it flourish and we have the opportunity to make this happenMarion Turner-Hawes
The group organised several events at the bandstand last year, and now they are planning to build on this by doing more activities and making the park feel better and safer.
A public meeting has been organised to hear from anyone who has ideas or suggestions or would like to offer to help improve the park.
Marion Turner-Hawes, chairman of the Castle Fields Community Group, said: “We are holding a public meeting to get people’s thoughts about the facilities in the park and ideas about how we can work together to make it better.
“We intend to build a community of volunteers to work in the park, helping out by doing things like picking up litter, clearing the brook, making it a better place for nature and people and getting the toilets working.
“There are many things we could do, including starting a café and having more opportunities for people to do sports.”
Marion added: “Many of us really love this park, it will be great to see it flourish and we have the opportunity to make this happen.”
Anyone who would like to have their say on the future of the park is invited to attend the public meeting taking place at 7pm on Friday, July 10, at the Victoria Centre in Palk Road, Wellingborough.
People are being asked to fill in a survey about what they would like to see at the park and what they would be happy to do to help make it happen.
