There is still time to nominate those hidden community heroes who make us proud to be part of our county.

This year’s Pride in Northamptonshire Awards will highlight the people who deserve recognition for their tireless efforts to improve the lives of others and have a positive impact on the community.

The Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph is appealing for people to nominate their hidden heroes or someone who goes the extra mile to ensure their efforts do not go unnoticed.

Categories include excellence in public service, our young achievers, care in the community, neighbour and people who help young people to fulfil their potential.

Evening Telegraph editor Neil Pickford said: “There are so many people out there who work tirelessly for the good of others but get no recognition for it so this is our way of saying thank you.

“We would love to hear from you with your nominations.”

The finalists will be recognised for their efforts at an awards ceremony taking place on Friday, September 28, at Wicksteed Park Pavilion in Kettering.

To nominate someone email et.exhibitions@ northantsnews.co.uk with your name, the name of the person you are nominating and the reason why.

Or write to Northamptonshire Pride 2012, Events and Exhibitions Team, Northamptonshire Newspapers, Newspaper House, Ise Park, Rothwell Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN16 8GA.

The closing date is Friday, September 7.
