Officers are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a handbag in Kettering.

The incident took place in Wood Street at about 9.20pm on Saturday, September 1.

A 27-year-old woman was walking along Wood Street from the Bath Road area in the direction of Rockingham Road.

As she got near to the junction of Nelson Street, an unknown person on a bicycle approached her from behind and stole her handbag.

The offender then rode off towards Rockingham Road.

The victim is unsure if the offender was male or female as she only saw the back of the offender as they rode away.

The offender wore a grey hooded top with the hood pulled up over their head. They were also carrying a black sports bag with a cord over their shoulder and back.
