With our 11th walk soon upon us, excitement is brewing in the Crazy Hats camp, and beyond.
Suddenly, after months of planning and physically putting those plans into action, it is hard to believe the walk itself is only weeks away, on March 24.
Entries have been pouring in, with the potential for numbers to be the best yet.
This, undoubtedly, has been enhanced by the guest appearance of Ashleigh and Pudsey, our local Britain’s Got Talent 2012 winners.
As you can imagine we are thrilled they have accepted our invitation and I am sure we are in for a great time as they show us a few of their moves and get the walk going.
Their lifestyle and schedules must be so, so busy and varied but I, personally, am delighted that, as national and international stars, they have remembered where their grass roots lay and have made time to be with us; I know they will both get a rapturous applause from our attendees when they step out on to the stage.
When we are out and about we hear all the time, “I’m thinking of doing the walk this year.”
Time is running short to think about it.
All I can say is we are ready for you so please put your plans into action and join up now so as to avoid disappointment and to help us in our organisation of the day.
If you have entered in the past you will know what I mean when I say the atmosphere is so warming and friendly.
Although it may be a little emotional for some, I can guarantee that once the walk gets under way, spirits are lifted and all you see are happy, smiling faces adorning an array of wonderful crazy hats with the sound of laughter everywhere!
