Giant vegetables and dazzling flowers were the stars of the show as a community’s green-fingered handiwork was championed.
The annual Titchmarsh flower and vegetable show drew in big crowds yesterday, Sat 11, with the area’s finest growers lauded.
The likes of giant carrots, onions, and marrows were on show in the morning, with judges handing out awards later in the afternoon before an auction.
It took place at the village’s Clubhouse, in High Street.
Villagers’ handiwork and cookery was also examined at by judges, with a new category this year - men’s only spongecake making - proving popular with nine entries.
Janet Putley, from the show’s organising committee, said: “It was really well attended.
“We did wonder with the poor weather and the Olympics on, but there were some great entries and the day proved immensely popular.
“The judges were all really impressed and when it came to the auction, the hall was packed out.”
