Wollaston School recorded a 10 per cent increase in the number of pupils achieving five A*-C grades as students opened their long-awaited GCSE results.
The school also saw the number of students achieving A*-A grades improve by four per cent, with more than 20 students receiving As in eight or more subjects.
Notable individual success came from Jake Allen, pictured, who obtained seven A*s and three As.
Headteacher Joe Cowell said: “I am delighted that so many students have earned outstanding results across a whole range of subjects.
“Our Year 11 students were strongly focused throughout the year and have achieved extremely pleasing examination outcomes.”
“The results are testimony to our students’ hard work and to the skills and dedication of our subject staff.”
