Oundle School pupils are celebrating a brilliant set of GCSE results.
53.3 per cent of grades were A*, beating the previous year’s performance by 0.1 per cent.
It is the fifth year in a row that the A* percentage has topped 50.
84.5 per cent of grades were A* or A.
The number of pupils achieving exceptional grades is a school record, with 25 pupils achieving at least 10 A* grades and 49 pupils (more than 25 per cent of the cohort) scoring at least nine A* grades.
Performance was strong across all subjects with Mandarin (94 per cent), Greek (90 per cent), Chemistry (70 per cent), Physics (64 per cent), Latin and German (both 61 per cent) and Mathematics (60 per cent) all scoring at least 60 per cent A* grades.
The school is delighted that its pupils have performed so well in all public examinations.
New headteacher Sarah Kerr-Dineen said: “The pupils deserve to feel proud of what they have achieved and can now embark on sixth form study with justified ambition.”
