Gallery gearing up for first craft fair

A TOWN’S gallery is preparing to host its first ever arts and craft fair this weekend.

The Bridge Street Gallery, at Rothwell Arts and Heritage Centre, in Bridge Street, will host the fair over Saturday and Sunday, with plenty planned.

The gallery itself will also play host to two new exhibitions featuring steel wall-hangings, woodcarvings and about 40 paintings showcasing local artists’ work.

Gallery co-ordinator Christine Cocksedge said: “We’ve got plenty planned for the fair and it will be extended into the courtyard outside.

“There’s some really good art that will be on show and we’re hoping for a good turnout this weekend.”

The fair will be open from 10am to 4pm on both days.

Entry is free, and works on show will be for sale.
