Glorious weather boosted the crowds at this year’s Desborough Carnival on Saturday, June 29.
Carnival chairman Michael Crick said: “After a slightly smaller parade than normal the recreation ground filled.
“The stalls and sideshows did a brisk trade and the crowds watched entertainment in the arena.
“There were displays from Havelock and Loatland Schools and a gymnastics display by the North Northants Gymnast Club.
“Musical entertainment was provided by jazz band Happy Jazz, who played on the stage between arena events. It was a successful day although takings appear to be down as people didn’t seem to be spending as much but we hope to have raised a reasonable amount for town charities.”
In the week running up to the carnival, a quiz night raised £200 and the Serina Restaurant ran a well-attended buffet night on Wednesday.
