A programme of festive entertainment is being planned in Kettering town centre during the Christmas period.
Kettering Council discussed its December programme of entertainment at a meeting this week.
The late-night shopping event and Christmas lights switch-on will be taking place on the evening of Thursday, November 27, when there will be a Santa’s sleigh and stalls in Market Place, as well as a big screen.
Saturday, December 6, will see a carol event in Market Place in combination with a national event called Small Business Saturday – aimed at encouraging people to use independent traders.
December 11 and 18 will see open-air screenings of the Disney film Frozen and the animated fantasy Polar Express respectively.
The time of the screenings have not yet been confirmed.
A teenage market will be held in Market Place on Saturday, December 13, and on Saturday, December 20, there will be a market alongside a screening of Miracle on 34th Street. The council also hopes to arrange a living Nativity.
