The Friends of the Castle Theatre in Wellingborough group has recently reformed, but it will now be known as Castle Theatre Friends.

It is an independent group of people from the community who are committed to supporting the theatre in various practical ways.

The group is looking for new members and would love for anyone interested in joining to pop along to a coffee morning taking place this weekend.

The event is being held in Frank’s Bar at the theatre from 10am until midday on Saturday (November 5).

Membership will be £5 for 12 months, and while there will not currently be any discount on tickets, the cardholder will be eligible for a 10 per cent discount on food and drink at Frank’s (excluding any offers or promotions).

The group is planning on holding fundraising events and trips throughout the year, as well as coffee mornings on the first Saturday of the month from 10am until midday at the theatre.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the group can go along on Saturday, search for Castle Theatre Friends on Facebook or send an email to [email protected].

All new memberships will start on December 1 and an annual general meeting is due to take place sometime during May next year when the committee will be elected by fully paid up members.

It is hoped that the group can reach 1,000 members by next Easter.
