Family and friends showed their support at the latest fundraiser for Cat Anderson after she was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.

Catherine Anderson, better known as Cat to family and friends, was only diagnosed last August and has been having regular treatment ever since.

Following her diagnosis, people have been organising fundraising events to help Cat’s family with travel and living costs.

The latest fundraiser was organised by Tara O’Brien, one of Cat’s best friends, and took place on Sunday.

The 10k sponsored walk set off from the Lakeside Surgery in Corby as some of the girls work there and they called themselves the Lakeside Lovelies.

Robert Anderson said: “They were also joined by some supporters of our Cat In A Hat facebook page.

“They arrived at Brigstock Surgery just under two hours later and Cat herself completed the walk also despite having just finished a course of chemo the day before.

“We had refreshments at Brigstock village hall where we were entertained by Aimee Coy and her friend Miles.”

A raffle was held with many great prizes as well as a silent raffle with prizes including a football autographed by the current Manchester United squad and tickets to see Matilda in London.
